I have a mac also and I use forinside to do this. It's super easy to use.

1 Find the video you want ot download on Youtube. Copy the link.
2. Go to www.videodownloadx.com and download the video.
3. Download SUPER at www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
4 Tell It to convert to an MP3 format.

And there 'ya go. That simple.

Go to media converter.org, paste the url of your youtube video into the "Convert a video directly from various portals" box, click next step, now you can select your file type, so chose mp3, name the file if you want, next step, change bitrate setting if you want to, next step, it downloads and converts your file, now you can download your mp3. Now note this is not super good quality (mp3 128kbs mono) and ur limited to 5 conversions a day, but I use this sometimes, works for me.
