Picnik, FotoFlexer or Lunapic are great all round web based and FREE editing tools with relative newcomers Citrify and iPiccy being good too. . Adobe, makers of the expensive Photoshop, now has a free website version in Photoshop Express. If you need/want more features downloading GIMP is a great options. Still free, but you have to download the software. There are also free tools to add text blurbs, to make collages, to put your photo into other images. There are a number of tools that allow you to put the image of a face into other photos for some fun creations.
GIMP is a full featured editing program, along the lines of Photoshop. And like Photoshop, it has a steep learning curve. If you are looking for all hand-holdy wizards and one click buttons, stay with Picnic. If you want a true editor, GIMP is the best free software you can get.
When you are looking for free software be very careful, remember “Free is only cheese in mouse trap”. You may get Viruses, Spyware, Adware and Scareware.
When I search for free software I have 1 site I trust and I download my software from them, but even from this site I check with antivirus before opening.
is a free online versidownload free photo editingon of basic Photoshop. No download required. Although this may be a little advanced for some people.
Hi
There are many free and good quality photo editing software programs out there.
I'll list them out here.
1. The GIMP
GIMP is a great free, open-source image editor that brings high-end photo editing to users for zero dollars. It's a bit complex but very powerful.
2. Fotoflexer
This Web-based photo editing application has casual and prosumer appeal.
3. Paint.Net
Easy-to-use interface and a huge array of effects - great for those that don't need the power of Photoshop.
4. Picasa 3.5
Very nice interface and cool new features and tools. Picasa is one of my favorites for a terrific, easy, and free way to edit and organize your images.
5. Picnik
This is Web-based and quite powerful in the photo editing options it offers.
6. Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011
Microsoft's offering has face recognition and retouching capabilities. Very good alternative to Apple iPhoto and Google Picasa.
7. Fatpaint
Fatpaint is an online and free, graphic design software and photo editor. You can create page layout, paint and draw vector images, logos and illustrations very easily.
Hope this helps you out!
Best Regards
Gary Hendricks
